Marine Engineer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced marine outboard engineer to join our team at Blackness Marine. Our family run boatyard situated on the river Dart provides a range of boat storage year round, trailer boating and a large Drystack facility in a stunning location with private slipway. We host a range of on-site services - a marine engineering workshop, fabrication workshop, on-site rigger and maintenance contractors providing a comprehensive range of services to our customers year round.
Candidates will ideally be dealer trained, with minimum NVQ Level 2 Marine engineering qualification and recent experience in a marine engineering workshop, our large customer base spans a huge range of engines, 4 and 2 stroke. The main manufacturers are Yamaha, Suzuki, Mercury and Volvo with many others Evinrude, Mariner, Yanmar, Beta etc. as well so the role is varied and fast paced.

The key requirements:

· Marine engineering experience (NVQ Level 2 minimum)

· Experience servicing outboards 2 and 4 stroke

· Experience servicing inboard engines

· Full driving license, own transport

· Good working knowledge of health and safety

· Excellent time management

· Accurate record keeping

· Physically fit enough to manage the role, which involves being outside year round

· Ability to swim

Desired but not essential as training can be provided:

· Familiarity with Stock control

· RYA Powerboat level 2

· Slinging and lifting experience a strong advantage, training will be provided

· Electrical instrument installation experience

POST: Full-time, permanent, salary dependant on relevant experience
